PHSE

PHSE and RSE coordinators is Mrs Cuddy.

PSHE education helps children and young people to stay safe, healthy and prepared for life's challenges and opportunities.  PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) education is a school curriculum subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future.  It helps pupils to stay healthy, safe and prepared for life – and work – in modern Britain. When taught well, PSHE also helps pupils to achieve their academic potential and creates positive attitudes towards friendships.

PHSE Scheme Overview

RSE

The Department for Education made it compulsory to teach Relationships Education for primary pupils and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) from September 2020. At Kirk Smeaton, we have been teaching this for many years.   In response to this, we updated our RSE policy in March 2020 and shared this with parents in September 20.

To see our presentations, please contact the school office to make an appointment.

We also use busy bodies videos.

  • Introduction
  • Puberty for boys and girls
  • How babies are made
  • Enjoying life
