17/06/20 Some our our Dolphins have been busy drawing beautiful pictures of being back at school They're great guys - well done!

30/03/20 Our chicks are loving life at the minute, exploring their little home and spending time with each other. They don't have names yet though - can you think of any good ones?
22/03/20 Our new chicks are absolutely thriving! Starfish chicks have finally made their appearance, and Dolphins chicks are enjoying their new life outside the egg.

20/03/20 Today we closed our doors to normal school life for a while and we're so sad to say 'goodbye for now'. We will continue to provide childcare where we can for our keyworkers and those who are vulnerable (more information can be found here), and we can be contacted on admin@kirksmeaton.n-yorks.sch.uk for any queries.
In brighter news, the eggs we were looking after in Starfish and Dolphins are showing signs of life, and we have our first hatcher! We'll keep updating this page with pictures and news on the chicks.

04/03/20 We've had our first harvest from our garden. The children have spent many days nurturing and tending to our crops, and we have finally got some yummy produce. We are even selling our lettuce and kale for a small donation towards more seeds. If you would like to purchase any please let the school office know.

06/02/20 Some our of KS2 children competed in today's swimming gala at Askern Pool, and we are so proud to announce they came 2nd! Well done guys, you did a fantastic job!
24/01/20 We have been truly blessed this year, to receive a very generous donation of £4000 from the Masonic Charitable Foundation, which we are going to use toward the cost of refurbishing Dolphins outdoor area. We cannot thank you enough for your incredible donation.

20/12/19 We've had a wonderfully festive end to the half term, with our lovely sing-a-long with KS2, followed by our annual Christmas Fair. Thank you to everyone that donated time, money and help to making these events as fantastic as they are.

13/12/19 Well done to our Reception and Nursery children, along with Miss Ghent and her team, for putting on such a magical Nativity. Great job guys!

04/12/19 We had a wonderful day with Sally at our planting party. Thank you so much to everyone that could join us to plant a tree with their children, or who came just to lend a hand and join in the festivities. Each family in school got to plant a tree so if you couldn't join us on the day, we're sure your little ones will be able to point out the tree they planted.

06/11/19 We attended the village Cenotaph today in honour of Remembrance Day. Thank you to all those who have fought or sacrificed themselves for our freedom.

05/11/19 Thank you to all those that donated to our Harvest Festival appeal. Together we donated 14kg of non-perishables to Knottingley Food Bank, and raised over £300.00 from the fresh produce auction. We have also had a wonderful assembly today by Pontefract Food Bank and will shortly be sending more donations their way.
10/10/19 Thank you to everyone that made it to our Art Exhibition. the children had a wonderful time creating and shoring their works with you.

03/10/19 We had a wonderful afternoon with Grandparents today, showing off our musical talents and sharing a delicious treat with you all. Thank you to everyone that attended, donated treats or money. WE hope you had a fabulous time.
